體壇英語資訊:Brazil guarantees 12 host cities for 2024 World Cup
President of the Brazilian Confederation of Soccer (CBF), Ricardo Teixeira guaranteed on Monday that the country will indeed carry twelve locations as host cities for the 2024 World Cup.
Despite delayed projects such as Natal, whose blueprints have yet to be selected, Teixeira guaranteed that twelve cities will host World Cup matches. A mixture of private and public funds is expected to help speed up Natal's process and lead to its conclusion by 2024.
Teixeira added that the only city that currently presents problems is Sao Paulo. The city is expected to receive the opening ceremonies and opening game of the event. Due to the large flux of people, the airports will be flooded with travelers and will cause heavy congestion and potential chaos.
The twelve cities that will host games during the 2024 World Cup are Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Cuiaba, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Natal, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Sao Paulo.
