Kind, Sort, Species, Type, Category
Kind(n.)---種類。指同種類的東西。
Sort(n.)---種類。指大體相似的東西, 有時(shí)用于貶義判斷。
Species(n.)---種類。指相同種類的生物。
Type(n.)---種類。指不太明確類別的劃分，有主觀判斷之意。
Category(n.)---種類。正式用語(yǔ)。指對(duì)材料?或圖書(shū)等進(jìn)行分析而劃分的種類。
例:This is the best kind of pen.
這是最好的一種鋼筆。
I can feel at home in this kind of room.
在這樣的房間里我感到象在家里一樣。
What sort of food do you like best?

Kill, Assassinate, Execute, Dispatch, Murder, Slay, Slaughter
Kill(v.)---殺，殺死。普通用語(yǔ)。指任何一種致死行為。
Assassinate(v.)---暗殺。指出于政治目的進(jìn)行的暗殺行為。
Execute(v.)---處決。指依據(jù)法律，判處死刑。
Dispatch(v.)---殺死。指采用直接方法，如刺，射擊等手段殺死，強(qiáng)調(diào)迅速。
Murder(v.)---謀殺，兇殺。指非法地?有目的的殺害他人。
Slay(v.)---殺死，殺害。指殘酷地打死或用武器殺死?，F(xiàn)多用過(guò)去分詞slain。
Slaughter(v.)---屠殺。尤指為肉食而屠殺；還指錯(cuò)殺或殘酷地殺死很多人。
例:Two people were killed in a car accident.

Acute(adj.)---尖銳的。一般指角的形狀。用于比喻時(shí)，指思維敏捷。
Penetrating(adj.)---銳利的。強(qiáng)調(diào)透過(guò)細(xì)節(jié)調(diào)查事物根源的能力。
Sharp(adj.)---銳利的。普通用語(yǔ)。一般指刀的鋒利。用于比喻時(shí)，強(qiáng)調(diào)有洞察力，有時(shí)含不誠(chéng)實(shí)的意味。
Shrewd(adj.)---銳利的。表示諳于世故，遇事老謀深算，有看穿一切事物內(nèi)情的能力。
