美國“監(jiān)聽”風(fēng)波
美國國會參議院情報委員會主席黛安娜?范斯坦28日說，鑒于美國國家安全局沒有就針對其他國家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人的監(jiān)聽活動作正式匯報，該委員會將對美情報機(jī)構(gòu)的所有監(jiān)視項目展開“全面審查”。

Anger over Washington's extensive eavesdropping on world leaders and ordinary citizens has shown no signs of abating, as observers say using anti-terrorism as an excuse for pervasive surveillance is "hypocritical and abused".
針對華盛頓方面大面積監(jiān)聽世界各地領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人及普通民眾行為的怒氣并未有消散的跡象，觀察人士表示，用反恐作為大面積監(jiān)控的借口是“虛偽的，同時也是在濫用權(quán)力”。
這里的eavesdrop指to listen secretly what other people are saying 與此相關(guān)的報道中還可以見到intercept和wiretap兩個詞。
Intercept指to stop and take someone or something that is going from on place to another place before that person or thing gets there，即“攔截，截取”，如：Detectives have been intercepting her mail. Wiretap則指“竊聽器”或者“在電話中安裝竊聽器以實施竊聽”，及“電話竊聽”，如：The FBI wiretapped his phone. 這三個詞的區(qū)別是，在eavesdrop和wiretap的情況下，信息是在對話雙方不知情的情況下被秘密獲取的，雙方對話交流并不受影響；而在intercept的情況下，信息是中途被攔截，并不能按照發(fā)出的要求到達(dá)指定接收者。
